Born in 1939, Frank was brought up in Yorkshire. He began to study the piano at age seven, and had his first trumpet lesson on his tenth birthday. At the age of 14, Frank Renton became the youngest member ever to join the Black Dyke Mills Band.

Frank first earned a living as a professional trumpet-player, gaining conducting experience where possible. In 1967 he won a Competition for Young Conductors at the Edinburgh Festival. Appointments followed in Germany and in Singapore, where he conducted the first performances of the country's fledgling symphony orchestra. He also worked throughout the Far East.

After his return to England in the mid-70s, Frank variously ran a music school in York, played with Versatile Brass, and eventually began working with the BBC Concert and Radio Orchestras. He also worked with the famed Grimethorpe Colliery Band.

In 1985 Frank returned to London to become Principal Conductor of the Royal Artillery Orchestra, London's oldest professional orchestra. For three years Frank and the Orchestra toured the country giving concerts in venues large and small, and to all kinds of audiences.

In 1988 he was appointed Principal Conductor of the British Concert Orchestra after critically acclaimed recordings with the American soprano Carol Vaness. He also began to broadcast regularly on BBC Radio, writing and presenting his own musical programmes. In 1992 he made the decision to concentrate entirely on conducting and broadcasting. He now presents BBC Radio 2's weekly 'Listen To The Band' programme. He is a member of the Worshipful Company of Musicians, and in 1989 became a Freeman of the City of London.

Since joining with Camborne in June 2000, Frank has the amazing record of seven wins and four seconds, including five qualifying performances at the West of England Area, and five victories at Bugle.
On completion of three years training at the Royal Marines School of Music, Lieutenant Colonel Chris Davis OBE BA(Hons) MMus DMA LRAM RM joined the Band of the Commander in Chief Naval Home Command as a clarinet and violin player. The next eight years saw continuous service on board Her Majesty's Yacht Britannia, including two circumnavigations of the world.

With a return to the Band of Commander in Chief Naval Home Command in 1989 came promotion to Band Colour Sergeant and further trips as leader of the orchestra on board Her Majesty's Yacht Britannia. 1992 saw a return to the RM School of Music as the leader of the Staff Orchestra. He was appointed Director of Music, Royal Marines Band Scotland based at HMS Caledonia in Rosyth, in July 1995 and spent 3 years in charge of the band performing at venues throughout the United Kingdom.

During the summer of 2000 he found himself returning to the Band of HM Royal Marines Portsmouth, the band in which he began his playing carreer, as its Director of Music. In July 2002 Chris assumed the position of Commandant of the Royal Marines School of Music and Principal Director of Music, Royal Marines, the seventh in a line of celebrated musicians who have held the appointment.

In 2007 he was awarded an OBE in Her Majesty The Queen's New Year Honours which rounded off a year in which he was also awarded a doctorate from Salford Universitiy.
Richard Evans was born in Aldershot, the son of a regular soldier. He spent the first two years of his life in India. On return to England, the family moved to Preston, Lancashire. He was introduced to the cornet with the Leyland British Legion Band. Richard was the founder member of the National Youth Brass Band, becoming principal cornet under the direction of the late, great Harry Mortimer. He then moved to the Leyland Motors Band. On his return from National Service in Berlin, he joined Black Dyke for two years.

Graduating from the Royal Northern School of Music, he began full-time teaching and worked as a freelance trumpet player with the BBC Northern Symphony Orchestra and many other famous ensembles. In 1975, Richard became Musical Director of the Wingates Temperance Band and they won the British Open Championship. 1976 saw him moving to the Fairey Engineering Band. At the beginning of 1978, Richard was recruited to rebuild the Leyland Vehicles Band and the band made a meteoric rise to Championship status.

Richard’s musical prowess was recognised in 1986 when he was awarded the J. Henry Iles Medal, presented by the Worshipful Company of Musicians of the City of London. He proudly holds the post of Musical Director of the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland. His personal quest is to provide the foundations for the continual growth of the British brass band culture through his established BA (Hons) course in Band Studies at Accrington and Rossendale College.

Richard first conducted Camborne at the 2006 Spring Festival in Blackpool, however, more recently he conducted the band at their Showtime Spectacular at the Hall for Cornwall in September 2007.
John Berryman was born in Cornwall and following in his fathers and grandfathers footsteps (who both played with Camborne Town Band) started playing the cornet at the age of 8, and joined Camborne Band when he was 11.

When he was 19, John left Cornwall to become the principal cornetist with the Munn and Felton's Band, a position he held for 10 years.  During this time, he toured and broadcast extensively with the band. One of the highlights of his solo career was appearing as the guest soloist in the Gala Concert at the Royal Albert Hall.

As a conductor, John has enjoyed successful partnerships with several of the top bands in the country.  More recently, he has continued to conduct on a freelance basis as well as fulfilling many adjudicating engagements both in this country and abroad. In 1987, John was awarded the prestigious Iles Medal by the Worshipful Company of Musicians of the City of London for his services to the brass band movement.

2002 saw John work with the Band for the first time for many years when they  recorded '18 Christmas Crackers'. John returns to the band as guest conductor each year during the summer season.
