Tips To Make Your Vape Coil Last Longer

Vape coils heat the e-liquid to produce vapour, and their lifespan depends on how they are used and maintained. A coil that lasts longer provides a better experience and reduces the frequency of replacements. Some simple habits and adjustments can prevent early coil burnout.

Here are the different ways to extend the life of a vape device coil.

Prime the coil before use:

A new coil should always be primed before the first use. This means saturating the coil with e-liquid and letting it sit for a few minutes. This step allows the cotton inside the coil to absorb enough liquid, preventing dry hits and burning.

Use the recommended wattage:

Each coil has a recommended wattage range, which is usually printed on the coil itself or the packaging. Staying within this range ensures that the coil does not overheat. Setting the wattage too high can burn the cotton inside the coil, shortening its lifespan.

Avoid chain vaping:

Taking multiple puffs in quick succession does not allow the coil to cool down properly. This can cause the wick to dry out faster and lead to burning. Allowing a few seconds between puffs gives the coil time to absorb more liquid and last longer.

Keep the tank filled:

Vaping with a low level of e-liquid in the tank can expose the coil’s cotton to direct heat. This can cause burning and lead to a burnt taste. Keeping the tank at least one-third full ensures that the wick stays saturated.

Clean the coil regularly:

Cleaning the coil can remove residue and extend its lifespan. This can be done by rinsing it with warm water and letting it dry completely before using it again. Some vapers also soak coils in alcohol or vinegar to remove built-up residue.

Avoid sweet and dark e-liquids:

E-liquids with a high amount of sweetener can leave a residue on the coil, causing it to burn out faster. Dark-colored e-liquids often contain more additives, which can lead to faster coil buildup. Using clear or lightly sweetened e-liquids can help keep the coil cleaner for longer.

A vape coil lasts longer with proper use and care. Avoiding dry hits, using suitable e-liquids, and keeping the tank filled are simple ways to prevent early burnout. Small adjustments in vaping habits make a difference in coil longevity.
